March 2017's Online Professional Development Opportunities

I can't believe that March has started. Where I'm at, this means spring break, standardized tests, and starting to think about the second-half of the semester. It also presents a great time to take part in some professional development to refine skills and ideas or to learn (and try!) new ones.

Although I sometimes struggle to make time for it, I always find #nctechat to be a worthwhile and invigorating experience! This month's chat is scheduled to take place on Sunday, March 19 at 8:00 pm ET, and the topic is "Teaching Responsibility and Independence," which is an important topic for any teacher. ASCD has a free webinar entitled "Making Bold Moves: Designing Remarkable Learning Environments." The webinar is March 2, 2017 (aka today!) at 3:00 pm ET.

The number of webinars that edWeb.net features each month is impressive, and there are a number of promising offerings in March. I'm especially interested in:

• "Literacy = Language Production: Going Beyond the Text & Embracing the Talk," which is on March 13 at 3:00 pm ET.
• "News & Media Literacy: Building Critical Consumers & Creators," which is on March 29 at 4:00 pm ET.
